This is the same message that Apple sent to consumers in its latest iPad 2 ad. The ad showed the iPad 2 being put through a number of "paces." The ad said:"The tablet is not necessarily for the people in this room. It's for the normal people in the world.
"I think Steve Jobs had that intention from the day we started Apple, but it was just hard to get there, because we had to go through a lot of steps where you connected to things, and [eventually] computers grew up to where they could do ... normal consumer appliance things."
The ad is embededded below.This is what we believe: technology alone is not enough. Faster, thinner, lighter: those are all good things.
But when technology gets out of the way, everything becomes more delightful, even magical. That's when you leap forward. That's when you end up with something ... like this.

But it brings up a point many have made, that iDevices in general are built to be usable by those least among us in terms of techie-ness. Meanwhile, Android devices seem better built for those who have at least a little geek in them.
That possibly explains why we've seen more than a few iPad toting grandmas, and none carrying around the Motorola Xoom.
