Some of us wish we could fly like Superman. So do I.
But seeing as how that would be impossible, I guess the next best thing would be jumping high, really high. Introducing the Magic Jumpers extreme running and jumping ?shoes?.
Magic Jumpers are strong and flexible bow-like stilts. With practice and determination they have the ability to send you jumping 6-8 feet into the air. Well, that?s what the company claims. When you get good you can run up to 25 MPH.
With some of the videos of the more experienced users that I saw it is possible to jump extremely high and run great distances. I have seen a few people on these apparatuses actually doing flips, forwards and backwards. Amazing.
In comparison, the Magic Jumpers do for stilt walking what rollerblades does for rollerskates. They make them more stylish, more aggressive and more cool. They look like something off of a Cirque De Soleil show. And when you first put them on you feel like the funny jester clown that tries to make everyone laugh. They are very awkward when you first put them on. First, you have to tighten the straps for your feet, your ankles and your knees. And then after that you have to do your best to balance which can be awkward in itself since you feel like you have more articulated joints than you can handle.
But don?t worry it?s not so bad after some steady practice. It only feels awkward the first few times. With enough practice you may be able to stand on your UltraJumper and run confidently down the street. And with more practice you may be able to do those incredible flips too. Well, maybe.
When I first strapped these Magic Jumpers on I had a hard time balancing on them since they feel like such a separate part of my body. You feel that your feet are firmly touching the ground but that is because of the foot platform, however, you only have a small square footprint to stand on.
After awhile I could almost stand on my own and balance but haven?t got the running, let alone the walking part, down yet. You definitely have to get used to balancing on them just to get the walking part down right.
It kills me when I saw pictures of young kids running and jumping so gracefully on them while I can barely stand on mine. I should take lessons from them.
Aside from the normal running and jumping, people have combined the use of Magic Jumpers and other sports. There have been basketball games played with them on and they have also been used during hurdles competitions. They have also been used during Olympics ceremonies. So Magic Jumpers can be widely used for different applications.
Although it takes a while to get really good at these Magic Jumpers they are fun to learn and fun to use.
Here?s a picture of me trying on the Magic Jumpers. Of course I still need a little assistance to balance. I haven?t got it down quite yet. But give me time?
